What Came First …the page or the card?

I was stranded at the house for a few days with no car. Alternator went bye-bye on the mini-van! It is only 3 years old so I am kind of surprised. Anyway it gave me a little bit of time to finish the layout I started over the weekend and make a matching card. So I guess in this case the page came first. The card was inspired by Kristina Werner and her blog, she make wicked awesome cards. The paper for the layout I have had for eons. I have to start using this stuff. The kids are only 5 and 3 in these pictures, they look so cute and innocent. It is hard to believe they are now 10 and almost 9 and play comp soccer and tackle football. Oh to go back in time.

Okay short post today waiting for one of my great friends who have graciously been driving me around town this week!

September Already!

I conducted my first PTA General Membership meeting last night. I was less nervous than I thought I would be and nobody booed so that’s good thing. I woke up this morning and realized that my house has been ignored for too long. Motivated by caffeine and LastFM, I did beds, put away 2 large loads of laundry, exchanged what we thought was a bad cable box (turns out someone turned the speakers off on the TV..duh) swept the floors and now I am on to a large cut job on the Cricut. One of the teachers at school wants every state cut out separately, possibly 6 times! That's a lot to do by hand so I offered up my Cricut and a free font…dingmaps. I am dying to do some scrapbooking!  This picture might me the next candidate for a page. Look at my responsible first born!

Happy day after the 4th

I had intentions of posting this yesterday but didn’t get a chance. I need to do a lot of catching up on my scrapping. The pictures in the layout below are from 1997. We took a trip into the city with close friends a couple days before our wedding.  It is a simple layout and I actually need to do the companion page which will have the journaling.

Back in action! Some recent creations.

I, like most people can not find time. So instead of tackling the ever growing pile of dirty duds, I sat down and made cards (the first 4, I made the other ones another day). I really want to scrapbook, so maybe, just maybe I will put something else off today and create a page or two. I must also admit that I am a great copy cat. I change colors and make them my own but I usually find something created by someone else and lift their ideas. So, should anything look familiar, it probably is! Like they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
Happy 4th of July!

Not so good at Blogging

Okay, I need to make this more of a priority. Why? I have no idea, it is not like people are screaming at me to update but still. I look forward to seeing other people's blogs, maybe one day someone will look forward to mine. I can only hope it is for creative reasons and not some stalker or bill collector.

This is one of my latest creations. I recently purchased Make The Cut to use with my cricut. All I can say is best thing since sliced bread! Love it. Super easy to use and I have been amazed at all the cool things you can do with it.

I have been doing cards lately because well the size is smaller and although it can take me an hour to do a card it is still quicker than scrapping. I did however just buy some new October Afternoon paper and Cosmo Cricket so I will come up with some layouts soon.
